A New, Improved GratisVolver
By Pat Brown
GratisVolver is a free convolution utility that allows you to listen to the effect of room impulse response measurements on anechoic program material. Read about the new upgrades to Gratisvolver.
GratisVolver is a free convolution utility that allows you to listen to the effect of room impulse response measurements on anechoic program material. We have used it in the Sound Reinforcement for Designers class for several years. A new version allows the full wave file to be displayed in the wave view window. This is helpful when a recorded sweep is displayed rather than an IR. A log-squared display option has also been added, and can be scaled in either time or amplitude. There are now two modes of operation – Convolve and Deconvolve.
It’s always nice when great tools get better. GratisVolver can be downloaded from www.catt.se (select “Free Software”). pb
