Blast from the Past – The SynAudCon Slide Rule

Many have fond memories of the SynAudCon slide rule. This cardboard wonder could do many useful sound system calculations, and was once a main stay of our seminars. In the early 2000’s we replaced it with our Audio Click-Rule app after a vote by our Forum members. It hurt to see it go, but things move on and the upcoming generation isn’t necessarily tuned into using slide rules.

We were delighted to see Fuzion Far East, who sponsored the SynAudCon Seminar in Bangkok, produce a reprint of the slide rule. It now has a more contemporary black face and is as useful as ever. The “Sound System Calculator” lives on in the far East, and we look forward to returning to Bankok to see it in action.  pb
