Acoustic Environments
Sound Diffusion Explained (Acoustics First)
Diffusion in simple terms is the scattering of sound energy. Using an array of ping pong balls to represent sound visually, this video simply demonstrates what occurs when sound strikes an acoustic diffuser’s surface.
Tech Note: Vol 1, #26A – Speech Intelligibility (Part 1) pdf (JBLPro)
Many factors important to speech intelligibility are well understood and can be used to help develop guidelines for successful system design.
